Vic Police & Emergency Services Games

March 18, 2021

The 2021 Victorian Police and Emergency Services Games are on in Geelong from March 17 to 21, and it’s the 40th Anniversary of the Games.

COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the 2020 Games, but the prospects for the 2021 Games are looking very positive. 24 Agencies will compete across 43 different sports to vie for the Victoria Police Games Federation Chief Commissioner’s Trophy & the Inter-Services Trophy.

The hockey section of the Games will be in action at Stead Park, Corio, on March 19 and 20. Eight teams will be in action, and if the team names are anything to go by, the action will be fast and furious.

Local hockey players Andy McGlashan, Michael Priest and Kane Ivory are participating, and Rodan Smith, David Fitzgerald and Ian Sheppard are umpiring, so why not drop in to Stead Park and support them.  It’s also a great opportunity to show our support for the fantastic work of the Police and Emergency Services personnel during the COVID pandemic, so go and cheer them on.
