Vale Craig “Hooka” O’Reilly

The Geelong Hockey community is saddened to hear of the passing of Craig “Hooka” O’Reilly.

Craig was a long-standing player and member of the Corio Hockey Club and for many years a regular at Sharks games. He was a very talented player, commencing playing for Corio as a 15 year old while still at school. He possessed skill and determination scoring many goals in crucial games. As a forward he was feared by all defenders and always played in a fair manner. In a time before representative hockey the local game was of a high standard with many teams participating. Hooka rose above all others in a very strong side.

He was married to Ali who is a long-standing playing member of our association. To Ali and their two sons in Jamie and Aaron we send our sincere condolences. Hooka was aged 60.

We all hope he is resting in peace.
