Message from Alan Climpson
June 3, 2024To the Committee and members of the Geelong Hockey Association
I am writing to you all to inform you of my decision to resign as President and committee member of the GHA.
This decision has come due to some family health issues and I need to support my wife as she works her way to a favourable outcome. Please be assured that in the long term Joyce will get through her issues, I will be at her side to support her and this is the sole reason for my decision.
My journey through hockey has stretched over nearly 5 decades. This is my 49th year being involved with Hockey and I have made life long friendships. My greatest memory of Stead Park is the people and the community we have created. I thank all the people that I have been involved with. It has been a fantastic journey that I would not change.
I now commend to you the current committee who are taking our sport forward. With the recent announcement of the upgrades to Stead Park and Torquay, we will use this as a spring board to grow our sport in our region. I also ask every member to support the committee as the game we play on the weekend does not happen without a lot of good people and hard work. If you can, please volunteer to either be part of the committee or at least offer to assist in some way, this all helps to make the job easier. In finishing I will not be totally lost to the GHA as I will help with advice if required and will try to get down to see the odd game where I can.
Regards
