Bequests and Donations
HOW WILL HOCKEY REMEMBER YOU?
There are many people within our hockey community who have contributed a great deal to our sport and have in return, received a great deal back. We occasionally receive enquiries about how they may contribute to our association in the present and future.
Hockey Geelong wishes to launch a Bequest Program where people have the choice of leaving part or all of their estate to our association for any approved purpose they desire.
It may be a sum of money for a specific or general purpose(s). If the bequest is for a specific purpose then there should be a prior confidential discussion to ascertain the feasibility with at least the President and Secretary.
If you have such a desire then we recommend you discuss it with your family and solicitor. If there is acceptance then we suggest you have it written in your will.
It is your choice if you tell the association at this time. Some people are comfortable to have their name known for such generosity and others wish to be
anonymous. That is your choice and we shall respond to your wishes.
Bequests may possibly be used for:
- Furniture
- Honour boards or signage
- Naming of a room or specific part of our facility (subject to approval)
- Naming of a change room for players and/or umpire’s room (subject to approval)
- A sporting scholarship to help a local player(s) with their fees, equipment, trips in pursuit of
excellence - Promoting junior development in the local community in your name or anonymously
- Financing a Junior Development Coach to promote our game in the region
- Financing a person who has a paid role
- Providing equipment that is used in the game
- Provision of outdoor furniture, plaques or gardens
- Or something that you feel would suit your wishes.
If you do have any questions then please contact the President and/or Secretary for a confidential discussion so we are able to support you.
We thank you in advance for your due consideration.
