  • Past Event Sat 18 Oct, 2025 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

The first Hockey 5s Come and Try on October 11 saw 15 junior players having so much fun that we have decided to do it again!

Join us at Stead Park on Saturday October 18 from 10 am to 12 midday for another game – or to try it for the first time. And bring your friends because it’s free!

Hockey5s is a shorter and faster variant of the traditional sport of field hockey. It’s similar to what T20 is to cricket, Rugby7s is to rugby and 3×3 basketball is to basketball.

Pre-registration here is welcome but not essential.

Hockey5s was first introduced in 2013 with the intent of driving up viewership of hockey by making it quicker, simpler and more entertaining. The first time the format made an appearance on a big international stage was the 2014 Youth Olympics in China. Since then, Hockey5s has steadily grown in popularity and is played by over 60 nations.
