Reminder: nominations for Hockey Geelong teams for the Junior Country Championships close on April 10.

Playing in the Victorian Junior Country Championships is a fantastic opportunity for hockey players. It brings together the best regional talent, giving players the chance to compete at a higher level, challenge themselves, and experience the intensity and fun of representative hockey.

It’s a chance to develop skills quickly through quality coaching, structured games, and exposure to different playing styles. It`s a great chance to build confidence and create friendships with teammates from across their region—often forming memories that last well beyond the tournament.

The championships can act as a pathway for future opportunities, with selectors and coaches often watching closely. Whether aiming for higher honours or simply wanting to improve and enjoy the game, the experience helps players take the next step in their hockey journey.

Melbourne Sports Institute is looking for umpires for their season starting in term 2.

MSIwill send out the fixtures to all the umpires involved and you can let them know which games you are interested in doing. They are more casual level games so good to get experience. Games would mostly be based in Melbourne.

Bring everyone together for a fun and relaxed movie night under the stars with a big inflatable screen!

Set up at Stead Park, this event is the perfect way for players, families, and friends to unwind off the pitch.

Pack a picnic blanket, bean bag or camping chair, grab some snacks at the pitch, and enjoy a great film on the giant screen in a unique outdoor setting.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to build team spirit, meet new members, and enjoy the social side of hockey in a laid-back atmosphere everyone will love.

The annual Hockey Geelong working bee will be held on Saturday 28th March from 8.30-10.30am.

All volunteers are welcome but at least 2 or 3 people per club would be great.

Despite the clubrooms going to be demolished they need to serve us for another season so need a good thorough clean.

If you have tools etc for a specific job bring them along – yard brooms, anybody have a Karcher window cleaner ? I have one but two would be better to clean all those windows inside and out.
