Recent news suggests that the 2020 hockey season is more likely to go ahead, and we are all looking forward to getting on the field to play. But we can’t play without umpires!
At least 30 umpires will be required each week for 15 senior and junior matches, so now is a good time to learn to umpire or to develop your skills further.
Hockey Victoria are conducting a Level 1 Umpire Course and it’s online, so you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your nice warm home.
Junior teams are required to provide an umpire each week for their own game, while umpires for senior matches will be rostered by the GHA Umpires Committee. Clubs are reminded that they should forward the names of their umpires who are available for senior matches. 1 umpire must be named for each senior team entered.
