The Easter Masters Carnival is getting closer!

The weekend will be a great one with some good hockey, a canteen running, some cooler weather, and a chance to be social with the bar open for all teams at the grounds as well as at the night out.

There will be teams in two divisions: 35+ and 50+ for women and 35+ for men.

Cost per team is $700 ($100 of this to be paid on registration). Fees include food on the Saturday night for all team members.

If you don’t have a team but would still like to come along, please register as an individual. Cost is $60 per player ($10 to be paid on registration) and we will find you a team.

All Nominations are to be submitted by 5pm, Sunday 22 Mar 2026.

Growing the Game – Umpire Training Session

The pre-season umpire training session on 1 March 2026 saw 30 junior and senior umpires attend. It was fantastic to see many familiar faces returning, along with several newcomers eager to develop their skills and gain experience in hockey umpiring.

Thanks to the session leaders John Larkins, Pearce Frost, Daniel Glenn and Lyndal Reading and the helpers and parents in attendance.

Another busy week of Roadshows in local primary schools brings our total to 7 schools visited so far and 1322 students who have had a practical experience of hockey.

Thanks to Hockey Victoria and local clubs for their support.

Week 3 is coming up and we will be visiting schools in Grovedale, St Leonards and Little River.

The Hockey Geelong 2026 Roadshow program begins tomorrow!

We will be visiting 19 local primary schools during Term 1 to give the children the chance to try hockey and learn some basic skills. The school sessions will be followed by Hookin2Hockey programs in Corio, Newtown and Torquay.

We are seeking volunteers to assist the Hockey Victoria appointed coach to conduct the sessions. A small reimbursement is available.

The role is appointed by Hockey Geelong to support the HV Regional Umpire Zone Developer, John Larkins. The successful person for the role will liaise directly with John, with the focus being to support and facilitate the development of umpires in Geelong.

Pre-requisite – applicant must possess Foundation Lead Accreditation.
