Hockey Geelong Vets 50+ Premiers 2014

Hockley Geelong would like to congratulate the Hockey Geelong Vets 50+ in bringing home the premiership flag in a tight game against Kew last night with the final score 1-0 our way. The 50s came to play as some Kew players were in far away land. West bound Westgate traffic meant a slight delay in proceedings which was not an ideal start for Kew. However they were still confident after trouncing us in the second semi.

Geelong attacked from the get go and Roger did his PC thing. Not sure if the defence had time to open their eyes wide enough on Roger’s superbly lifted strike hitting the middle of the backboard on the full.

Geelong played strong possession hockey which made Kew quickly realise that it was game on.

Kew responded towards the end of each half but Geelong’s defence led by Shayne , PB and Don successfully repelled their moves.

A very satisfying win for the team and squad.

Go the good old sharks!
