2016 Format
The 2016 Junior State Championships will follow the same format as 2015. Zones will be split into two pools of five and play in a total of seven matches over the four days. Matches will be 44 minutes long (22 minute halves) with a two minute half time interval.
The structure of the 2015 Junior State Championships allows Zones to stay together for the entirety of Day One and Two. This allows teams/siblings/zones to stay and watch each other. The fixture also reduces time required at the venue for each age group by breaking the day into three sections (for each age group).
Day One and Two: Pool matches (two per day). Zones will swap venues Day 1 to Day 2.
Day Three: Two cross over matches in order to be ranked for classification matches.
Day Four: Classification and Finals Matches.
Age groups:
Under 13: must be aged under 13 on Jan 1, 2016
Under 15: must be aged under 15 on Jan 1, 2016
Under 17: must be aged under 17 on Jan 1, 2016
Teams are all boys and all girls; no mixed teams.
