We Are Back For Training!

The City of Greater Geelong has approved the ‘Return to Play’ plan submitted by the Geelong Hockey Association for Stead Park. A similar plan has been submitted for King Lloyd Reserve, with access not available until the Plan has been approved.

CoGG – Return to Play Approval

Training Resumes June 1.

The Hockey Geelong Sharks teams will be the first to return to training at Stead Park, providing the opportunity to test the Return to Hockey Guidelines and iron out any problems before club teams return. Club teams are invited to begin training from Tuesday June 9.

Clubs are asked to ensure that you have advised the GHA of your training requirements i.e. day, time and pitch area needed.

Clubs and players should carefully read the Return to Hockey Guidelines. This is fairly comprehensive (but not necessarily perfect) and could require further updating as we test the process, or advice changes. It is in line with our current “Permission to Use” certificate issued by CoGG for Stead Park ONLY.

The Return to Hockey Guidelines refer to the current limit of 10 participants plus 1 coach for a half field. From June 1, this number may possibly be increased to 20, but we must have permission from the City of Greater Geelong (facility owners) to modify the original Return to Play plan. Therefore, 10 will be the limit until further notice.

Clubs are advised to prepare their own Return to Play Plans for any activities conducted away from Stead Park or Lloyd Reserve.

Members are encouraged to download the COVIDSafe app.
