The Return to Hockey Guidelines have been updated by Hockey Victoria in line with the January 17 changes to public health guidelines and restrictions in place.
Members who are attending matches at Stead Park are reminded of the rules which apply, and the COVID Safe hygiene procedures which are required.
- Ensure physical distancing.
Enter Stead Park via the gate on the left, exit via the gate on the right.
Players, coaches, umpires should remain 1.5 metres apart as much as possible. No high fives, handshakes, hugs or spitting.
Do not attend the venue or participate in a match if you are feeling unwell or have any of the symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact in the last 14 days with someone who has tested positive or has had symptoms.
Spectators may attend and should remain 1.5 metres apart from others and not gather in groups of more than 10.
- Wear a face mask
All persons entering Stead Park must carry a face mask, and wear it when you cannot maintain a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and other people you do not live with.
You do not have to wear a face mask while playing or warming up for a match.
If you go indoors e.g. to the toilets, you must wear a face mask.
- Practice good hygiene
Use hand sanitiser before and after your match, and wash hands frequently.
Use your own equipment and do not share equipment. Do not share water bottles, sticks, clothing, towels etc.
Do not touch the hockey ball with your hands.
Cones and hockey balls should be cleaned and disinfected after use, before being used again. Wash the equipment in the cleaning solution, leaving it in for at least 10 minutes, before rinsing and drying.
Bring a full water bottle. Drink taps are not to be used.
- Keep records and act quickly if participants, volunteers or organisers become unwell.
Each person who enters Stead Park must sign in using the QR code, located on the wall as you enter or on the noticeboard. On scanning the QR code, HV registered members will be asked for their username and password. Once you have entered these credentials, you will be checked-in. Check out again on leaving the venue.
HV non-members/ guests can scan the QR code and enter their name and contact details, but do not need to check out on leaving.
- Avoid interactions in enclosed spaces.
Change rooms are closed, but toilets are open.
A maximum of 2 people should be in the toilet area or in the corridor at the one time.
Face masks should be worn when entering the pavilion.
- Create activity bubbles.
Players may only play 1 game in the one night. Coaches may only coach 1 game in the one night.
Umpires may play 1 game and umpire a second game as long as they maintain their distance from the participants in the second game.
