Could Your Club Use Some Funding Support?

There are a number of grant programs currently available to provide funding support for community sporting clubs.

Community Sport Short-Term Survival Package

This $40 million Victorian Government program provides urgent support to help organisations and associations ride out the economic impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and help them reboot, rebound and recover.

The Geelong Hockey Association and some of its affiliated clubs have already been the beneficiary of funding via Round 1 and 2 of this program. Applications are now open for Round 3 of this program.

Grants of up to $2,500 are available for associations and leagues and grants of up to $1,500 are available for individual clubs and community sporting and active recreation organisations that have not previously received funding from this program.

Previous grant recipients will be paid an automatic top-up grant from May 2021, provided they still meet the program eligibility criteria. Top-up grant amounts are $1,500 for associations and leagues and $750 for clubs

Sporting Club Grants Program

The Sporting Club Grants Program provides grants to assist in the purchase of sports uniforms and equipment and to improve the capacity and accessibility of Victorian clubs and other community sport and recreation organisations and increase the skills of their coaches, officials and managers.

Sport and active recreation is an important provider for social interaction, sharing common interests, achieving personal bests and community inclusion.  Being part of a sporting club provides a socially valued role for participants and creates a sense of community cohesion.

There is still time to get an application in for new uniforms or equipment, coaching courses or for support to become COVIDsafe or to recover costs associated with the cancellation of events during the five day circuit breaker lockdown.

Grants range in value from up to $1,000 to $5,000.
