There are 3 trials being held: Sunday the 16th May in Melbourne and Sunday the 30th May in Bendigo, along with Senior Country Championships being the final selection at the June long weekend.
The 2021 National Country Championships will be held in Albany WA, from August 7-14th. Hockey Victoria will be sending both a Men’s & Women’s team to the championships.
Players must be registered with a Country team or Association to be eligible for selection.
Many Geelong people over the years have been involved in these teams, and it’s great to see that ex-Colac and ex-Geelong player Tammy Hansford has been appointed as the coach of the Women’s team.
The Australian Country Championships have also provided the opportunity in the past for selection in the Australian Senior or Australian U21 Country Teams, with a number of Geelong players having achieved this honour.
