The GHA Roadshow program for 2022 begins on February 14 and finishes on March 4. These three weeks of Roadshow visits are supported by Hockey Victoria, who will supply one coach to lead the sessions. The Geelong Hockey Association and its clubs will assist by providing one volunteer coach at each school.
With the support of Viva Energy, a reimbursment of $20/ hour will be available to these GHA volunteer coaches.
3 weeks of Roadshow visits
Torquay Hockey Club will start the program off with visits to Bellbrae, Anglesea and St Therese primary schools in the week of February 14. It is expected that over 600 children will participate in hockey sessions at school during this week alone.
The following week, February 21, will see visits to schools on behalf of Geelong and Saints Hockey Clubs. Volunteer coaches are required for these days:
- February 22 – Northern Bay Peacock Campus, 9.00 to 11.00 am
- February 22 – South Geelong Primary School, time to be confirmed
- February 23 – Northern Bay Peacock Campus, 11.30 am to 3.10 pm
- February 23 – South Geelong Primary School, 9.00 to 11.00 am
- February 24 – Lara Lake Primary School, 9.10 to 10.10 am
- February 25 – Lara Lake Primary School, 9.10 to 10.10 am
The third week is aimed at visiting schools for Golden Plains and Newtown Hockey Clubs. Volunteer coaches are required for:
- March 1 – St Mary McKillop Primary School, Bannockburn. Time to be confirmed.
- March 2 – Bannockburn P – 12, Bannockburn. Time to be confirmed.
- March 4 – Teesdale Primary School, Teesdale. 9 am to 31.15 pm.
