August 20 was the last round of home and away matches for the Geelong Hockey Association. It was also the day when players and parents from the Corangamite Hockey Club in Camperdown visited Stead Park and enjoyed the hospitality of the Hockey Geelong Sharks.
Visit organiser, Kylie Spokes has sent the following message.
Corangamite Hockey Club would like to thank you for welcoming us to your club last Saturday. The parents and children had a thoroughly enjoyable day. The skills session was a highlight and I know a lot of tricks were being practised at home on Sunday!
Providing our players with opportunities to develop their game and see where junior hockey can progress to is important. Seeing how other competitions and hockey clubs run provided us with an opportunity to learn and take home ideas to our club.
We hope that we can continue our friendship with the Geelong Sharks in the future and perhaps return your hospitality.
All the best for your Commonwealth Games planning and redevelopment.
Best regards,
Kylie.
A great initiative by these two groups, providing an important path to developing hockey in regional areas.
