Return of Corio Hockey Club Women’s Hockey.

2025 represents a significant milestone for the Corio Hockey Club. In 2015, Corio Women’s team won the Women’s Division 2 title. It was to be the last title won by this remarkable group.

In the year to follow, the team had folded, and players choosing to retire or join rival clubs. Names such as Kelli Caldow, Lisa Walters, Dani Burns, Rachael Frost and coach John Alonso have long been the life blood of CHC and more broadly in the Geelong Hockey Association.

This year, Corio Hockey has managed to re-launch our Women’s team in Geelong Division 2 and it is marvellous to see the red and white represented by a new generation. The sublime skill and determination of Leanne Basham and the silky stick work of Em (Moore) Shand lead a young but enthusiastic new generation of Corio Hockey players. Having won their first two games, the team seems to be combining well under the management of Gillian Armstead. It was brilliant to see so many members of our 2015 premiership team attend the CHC 50 th celebration, providing the inspiration to re-launch our women’s team.

A big welcome to all our new CHC players and welcome back to those dusting off the Red n White once more. We look ahead to all that you may achieve in 2025.
