The 2026 hockey season will begin on April 18 and everyone is making their final preparations. Preparations for the umpires are also important, providing an opportunity to align expectations, refresh knowledge, and build confidence ahead of the new season.
All umpires are encouraged to join us for the Pre-season Umpires briefing led by Pearce Frost, Hockey Geelong Umpires Convenor.

Discussions will include standards for the year, rule changes and interpretations, expectations, Q&A.
This is also Round one for the HG Sharks teams who are playing all day starting at 12.30, and ii is a good chance to see some umpiring in action before our season starts.
