Clubs and Hockey Geelong members are invited to submit nominations for the Hockey Geelong Volunteer Award. The award will be given periodically during the year so multiple nominations are permitted. The nomination may be submitted to recognise the volunteer efforts of individuals on behalf of the Association (Hockey Geelong) or the club.
A volunteer award in a sports community recognises the people who give their time, energy and skills behind the scenes to make sport possible. From organising events and helping at training to running canteens, managing teams and supporting players, volunteers are often the backbone of a club. Celebrating their contribution not only shows appreciation, but also helps build a stronger club culture, inspires others to get involved, and highlights the value of community spirit in sport.
