Geelong Hockey Centre Redevelopment at Stead Park

As everyone who visits Stead Park will see, the pavilion is progressing daily.  A milestone occurred on Wednesday with the installation of the four light towers. These lights will be best possible and will allow games to be televised on Seven Plus as well as streaming other games at Stead Park.

The windows have been put in place and you can see the boardroom window as one looks from the clubhouse. The roof is in place as are the solar panels which will help with our recurring costs. The commercial kitchen will be all electric.

The executive has commenced organising our Festival of Hockey from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October. There will be a Celebration Dinner on Saturday 24 October from 7.00pm. On the Saturday and Sunday there will be a series of games and clubs have been offered a time slot of one hour to organise  game(s) of their choosing. I know Newtown are keen to use their time slot and the Masters Men Over 60 are to ask Footscray to play them on one of the days.

Thank you all for putting up with the current difficult circumstances at Stead Park and for your understanding with the way games and training will be presented after the weekend of 8 & 9 August. We are almost there. Exciting times!

Regards
Graeme Dent
