Our hockey community is built on the dedication, passion, and generosity of our volunteers. From coaches and team managers to umpires, canteen helpers, committee members, and everyone who lends a hand behind the scenes, your contribution makes a real difference.

Lyndal has contributed significant amounts of time this season to mentoring and supporting umpires, including the preparation and submission of a grant application for a training course for umpires and coaches. Lyndal’s expertise with umpiring and with grant applications has benefited Newtown and Saints Hockey Clubs. Thank you Lyndal.

We also recognise Greg McGrane “Grubby” and Andrew McGlashan as the most recent volunteer award winners.

Greg and Andrew, over four days were instrumental in helping relocate the equipment and club gear from the old clubrooms at Stead Park to the temporary containers. They lifted, moved, directed, discarded and carried many items over that time period.

Greg was also tasked with assembling the new BBQ which clubs contributed to. The BBQ has been used many times since.

The move would not have gone as smoothly without their efforts.

Thank you Lyndal, Andy and Grubby for the countless hours you give to support our players, families, and community. Your efforts help create opportunities for everyone to enjoy hockey, develop new skills, and be part of a welcoming club environment.
