Hockey Geelong Sharks โ Weekend Match Report
It was a busy and competitive weekend for the Hockey Geelong Sharks, with all three Senior menโs teams in action at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Parkville as well as Elgar Park in Kew.
Vic League 1 Men โ Sharks 7 def. Craigieburn 3, on Sunday 13th September
The VL1 men delivered an outstanding performance, securing a strong 7โ3 victory over Craigieburn. The match showcased brilliant teamwork, precision passing, and confident finishing from a number of players.

This was a cohesive and disciplined display, with contributions across the entire squad.
ย Vic League 1 Reserves โ Sharks 0 lost to Melbourne University 2 on Saturday 12th September
The VL1 Reserves fought hard in a tightly contested match but were unable to convert their opportunities, going down 2โ0 to Melbourne University. Despite the result, the team showed determination and held their structure throughout the game against an older and more experienced MUHC team.
ย Pennant C Men โ Sharks 0 lost to Greensborough 2 (Saturday, Elgar Park)
The Pennant C men travelled to Elgar Park, where they were defeated 2โ0 by Greensborough. The group worked tirelessly and maintained strong defensive pressure, but Greensborough capitalised on their chances.
In addition to this 2 of our Junior Sharks teams played in Grand finals on Friday 4th September.ย The Under 14 boys played an exciting game against North West Lightning that ended in a draw, ย with shootouts following to determine the winner.ย The HG Sharks boys were victorious.ย The Under 16 girls went down 4-2 to a well drilled and tough opponent In Essendon, in what was a closely fought contest.
A big thank you to all spectators who came along across the weekend to support our Sharks teams and who travelled to Footscray to watch our juniors last weekend. Your encouragement and presence on the sidelines make a tremendous difference.
A tremendous season of hard work, commitment and determination from our players, coaches, managers and volunteers. The results are a wonderful reflection of the strength and depth of the Sharks program.
