Hockey Geelong is delighted to welcome Greta Hayes, Australian representative and Hockeyroos star, to lead a junior hockey clinic, giving young players a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s experienced international hockey players.
Greta, a talented midfielder from New South Wales, currently plays for Hockey Club Melbourne and is also an employee of Hockey Australia. With an impressive 78 international caps for the Hockeyroos, Greta brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the clinic.
The clinic will provide an exciting opportunity for junior players to develop their hockey skills, learn new techniques and gain valuable insights into the game from someone who has competed at the highest level. Sessions like these not only help players improve their skills but also build confidence, encourage teamwork and inspire young hockey enthusiasts to continue pursuing their passion for the sport.
Greta’s hockey career is an outstanding example of dedication and achievement. Her representative journey began with the Australian Under-21 team in 2015–2016, earning 14 caps before progressing to the senior Australian team in 2018. Since then, she has represented Australia at some of the sport’s biggest international events.
Her achievements include competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games, the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the 2022 FIH World Cup, the 2018 Champions Trophy, the 2016 FIH Junior World Cup and the 2025 Oceania Cup.
Having someone with Greta’s experience share her knowledge and passion for hockey is an invaluable experience for young players. Meeting elite athletes helps juniors see the opportunities that hockey can offer and demonstrates the importance of commitment, perseverance and enjoyment of the game.
Hockey Geelong sincerely thanks Greta Hayes for giving her time to work with our junior players and for helping inspire the next generation of hockey talent.
It is a wonderful opportunity for our young hockey community to learn, develop and be inspired by an athlete who has represented Australia on the world stage. We hope the experience encourages our juniors to keep learning, enjoying their hockey and dreaming big!
Thank you, Greta, for sharing your hockey journey and passion with Hockey Geelong!
