It was with great excitement that I received the news that a new scoreboard for the Lynette Williams pitch 2 has been approved and is being installed at the moment. It will be the same as the one being installed on the Jim Kirk pitch and will complement both fields.
I wish on behalf of Hockey Geelong to sincerely thank Development Victoria for seeing their way to provide such an amazing additional facility. Viewing matches from the first level of the new pavilion, spectators will be able to see two “state of the art” scoreboards for their pleasure. I also wish to appreciate the support of the City of Greater Geelong Council, Sport and Recreation Victoria and the State Government.
You will see the pavilion changing each time you visit Stead Park. The north end with the stairs and large rocks look fantastic. The other night the lights for FOP1 were on and it looked like daylight. The height of the light poles are ten metres higher than the existing ones and allows for a greater concentration of light on the pitch. We should all be very pleased with what the future holds. Exciting times!
