On Saturday, we moved into our new facility at Stead Park, and what a fantastic effort it was! So much was achieved in one day, and there are many people to thank.
Firstly, a huge thank you to Nette Williams for organising the day and expertly managing the many tasks and challenges that arose along the way. From ensuring the toilets were stocked with essentials to emptying containers, directing items to their correct locations and deciding what needed to be disposed of, Nette kept everything on track.
It was a well-coordinated operation, and an incredible amount was accomplished thanks to her organisation, initiative and ability to solve problems as they arose.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to the 26 volunteers from our various clubs who gave their time and energy to help make the move such a success. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved is greatly appreciated.
These occasions provide a wonderful opportunity for people from across our hockey community to come together, demonstrate their commitment and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
We are truly fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive community.
This is the beginning of a new era for Hockey Geelong! Our new facility at Stead Park represents an exciting future, and it is wonderful to see so many people playing a part in making it happen.
Thank you, Nette, and thank you to everyone who contributed. Together, we have made a great start!
With much appreciation and best wishes,
Graeme Dent
