There are only 4 weeks to go until the 2023 winter hockey season begins for local teams in the Geelong Hockey Association. The season will have 15 home and away rounds for senior competitions and 13 for junior teams, beginning on April 29 and finishing with Grand Finals on September 10/11.
The 2023 Roadshow programs resulted in visits to 12 local primary schools, with over 1550 students trying hockey during school class time. This was followed by 5 Hookin2Hockey programs, with 36 players registering with Hockey Australia.
Further Roadshow visits to schools will be conducted in Terms 2, 3 and 4, with 14 schools indicating their interest in hosting a hockey program. School Roadshow programs are a great way for children to experience hockey, with the opportunity to follow up if interested in learning more.
We have competitions available for players from U8 to U17, plus senior men and women – and don’t forget the Masters players too. We would love to see more players and more teams joining us to play this fantastic sport.
There’s still time to register to join a team, so invite your friends to join you too. 5 game memberships are available for junior and senior players, so give it a go and try hockey.
Check the contact details and registration access for our affiliated clubs here.
