The Hockey Geelong Executive Committee is beginning a broad consultation process to determine the most effective structure for our association moving forward.
This process will explore a range of structural models, with particular consideration given to:
- The most sustainable and competitive level for senior representative hockey — including both Premier League and Vic League options
- The development of a vibrant, high-quality local competition that supports participation and growth across all age groups and abilities
I have been asked to lead this process and to gather input from across our hockey community — including clubs, mentors, players, officials, and Hockey Victoria.
Attached to this email, you’ll find:
- A Discussion Paper outlining several proposed governance and operational models
- A Feedback Form for your response
How to Respond:
- If you are a club official, please submit a response on behalf of your club, after internal discussion where possible.
- You are also encouraged to submit a personal response in addition to your club’s perspective.
- If you are responding as an individual, we welcome your input in a personal capacity.
Please clearly indicate on the feedback form whether your response is being submitted on behalf of a club, as an individual, or both.
While the discussion paper outlines a number of possible models, we do not assume that these are the only viable options — we welcome any additional suggestions or alternative ideas you believe should be considered.
Completed feedback forms can be emailed directly to me at [email protected].
We kindly ask for responses by 5th June 2025.
If others in your network should be involved, feel free to forward this message or have them contact me directly.
Thank you for your time and contribution to this important conversation.
