Hockey Geelong – High-Performance Director (Senior Coaching Advisor + Futures Academy Coach)
Location:                      Stead Park (Corio) & Torquay
Reports To:                  Hockey Geelong Executive
Contract Term:           2 years with an option to extend
Remuneration:           Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Position Type:            Part-Time, with flexible hours based on availability
Position Summary
The High-Performance Director is responsible for the planning, delivery, and oversight of all representative hockey programs (Sharks) under Hockey Geelong. This includes:
- Creating a club wide coaching philosophy
 - Mentoring and supporting coaches across all age levels
 - Leading junior talent development and development programs
 - Contributing to the continued development of a club wide positive culture
 - Contributing to the broader growth and improvement of coaching across affiliated clubs
 
This position plays a critical role in establishing a pathway from junior grassroots hockey to elite performance and fostering a strong development culture throughout the region.

Key Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Level 2 Hockey Australia (or equivalent) coaching accreditation
 - Demonstrated success in coaching representative or elite hockey teams
 - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
 - Experience in mentoring and developing other coaches
 - Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate athlete development programs
 - Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
 
Desirable:
- Level 3 (Advanced) Coaching accreditation
 - Background in talent identification, academy planning, or junior high-performance programs
 - Experience working with or within regional sporting organisations
 - Knowledge of sports science principles, including injury prevention, athlete wellness, and performance tracking

Term & Commitment
- Length of Agreement: 2 years with an option to extend
 - Attendance Requirements:
- Minimum of one training session per week at Stead Park and Torquay as required
 - Presence on match days (negotiable depending on the applicant’s circumstances)
 - Additional sessions, development programs, and club support as agreed with the Executive
