New Appointment: Hockey Geelong Umpire Developer – 2026 Season

Hockey Geelong is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Glenn as the Hockey Geelong Umpire Developer for the 2026 season.

Daniel began his hockey journey five years ago and has been actively umpiring since 2022. Over this time, he has progressed strongly through the umpire development pathway, achieving Foundation Support Umpire accreditation in 2024 and Foundation Lead Umpire accreditation in 2025.

He brings a valuable combination of practical experience and enthusiasm to the role. Daniel has officiated at major events including JCC, JSC, and the Australian Masters Games, and has been appointed to at least one Hockey Geelong Grand Final each year since he began umpiring. His dedication and growth were recognised in 2025 when he received the Hockey Geelong Most Improved Umpire Award.

With the outgoing Umpire Developer John Larkins now appointed as the Regional Umpire Zone Developer – Southwest, Daniel will continue to benefit from John’s guidance and support throughout the 2026 season. This continuity ensures a strong and collaborative approach to umpire development across the region.

In addition to his on‑field achievements, Daniel has already played an active role in supporting and mentoring developing umpires. His commitment to building confidence, consistency, and capability within the umpiring group makes him a strong addition to the development team.

Hockey Geelong congratulates Daniel Glenn on his appointment and looks forward to the positive impact he will continue to make throughout the 2026 season.
