R.I.P. Kelli Caldow

It was with incredible sadness that we learnt of the passing of Kelli Caldow on Saturday morning.

She fought the good fight with her illness front on and was a regular at Stead Park even when it would have been easier to be at home.

Her love of hockey and the Hockey Geelong community, was always paramount for Kelli. A Life Member of Hockey Geelong Kelli filled just about every role there was from player, manager, coach, recruiting to stand-in goalkeeper. Her greatest role was being a brilliant wife, daughter, sister, mother, auntie and friend who always put others first.

It was this selfless attitude that was Kelli’s hallmark.  We all saw it. If there was a role to fill, Kelli would be first in line.

Her battle with her illness took us all on that ride. She was happy to discuss her journey and I always left inspired by being in the company of such a strong person.

I have known the family for 35 years and Bob and Barb were always proud of their three children. The apple did not fall far from the tree.

To Andrew and the wider family of Kelli and all her friends, we are all hurting but please see all the love she gave to so many over so many years. Deepest sympathies.
