HV Return to Hockey Guidelines Updated

Please note the following updated information from Hockey Victoria about the conduct of play and training.

2021 June 4 HV Return to Hockey Guidelines V-B.18(1)

Please note that we have asked for no spectators. This document opens the way for spectators under specific conditions. It would be much easier if we can have a blanket rule. We do not want volunteers having to take the responsibility of making decisions on a case by case basis. So please no spectators is the message. Viewing can take place from outside the perimeter of the playing area. This applies equally to LLoyd Reserve and Stead Park.

Requirements for Training

Requirements for senior training include:

  • Non-contact training drills only in small groups plus coach and minimal support staff.
  • Maximum 16 participants on each half of a hockey pitch.
  • Social distancing rules must be observed. Do not stand around close to other participants while waiting to take part in the drill.
  • No high fives, handshakes, spitting or contact.
  • Separate groups must not mix with each other.
  • No spectators allowed.
  • Get in, Train, Get Out.

Requirements for junior training (18 years and under):

  • Full contact training is permitted.
  • Maximum 32 participants on each half of a hockey pitch.
  • Social distancing rules must be observed. Do not stand around close to other participants while waiting to take part in the drill.
  • No high fives, handshakes, spitting or contact.
  • Separate groups must not mix with each other.
  • General spectators are not allowed.

Please ensure we are following all the rules. We do not want to be THAT sport. You never know who is watching.
