June 3, 2022

The 2022 Victorian Women’s Country Championships will again be played at Stead Park, Corio  on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, June 11 to 13.

With competing teams representing Geelong,  Albury Wodonga, East Gippsland, Sunraysia, North Central, Maryborough, Central Vic, Ballarat, Latrobe Valley, it’s going to be a busy weekend.

Canteen Help Needed

The canteen will be operating and the BBQs will be working hard to keep the players warm and well fed.

Helpers are required to operate the BBQs to cook and serve food to the hungry hordes.  If you have a couple of hours to spare during the weekend, your help would be appreciated.  Check the details and add your name to the roster here.

Parking Access

Access to parking at Stead Park during the Championships will be somewhat difficult.

Soccer are holding a very large tournament on the same weekend which will create a problem with parking. The Lions Club will be in attendance to “control” parking for the soccer tournament. Access to the soccer tournament will be one way via Cuthbertson Rd from the Princes Highway entrance beside McDonalds to the Softball pavilion. The soccer tournament will be using the grass area between Pitch 2 and Station St for parking.

Access to the hockey pitches via John St will be two way so caution is required at all times.  Cars should park in the existing hockey car park as much as possible. The emergency access gate will be open at the South end of Pitch 1 for large vehicles such as buses and trailers to park on the grass between the pitches and the buildings on St Georges Road. Emergency access must be available at all times.
