Geelong Hockey Association Annual General Meeting
November 28, 2024On Tuesday 26th November, 2024 we held our Annual General Meeting at Stead Park with a record 27 people in attendance.
The meeting began with an overview of the redevelopment and how that will unfold at Stead Park and Torquay. The Secretary and Treasurer presented their reports. The main takeaways were the financials with total Income increasing $40,000 to over $328,000. Canteen income increased $12,000 to $69,000. All good results. The overall Net Profit for the year was $20,559.55 slightly down from $24,000 last year.
The highlight of the evening was the election in which we received 11 nominations for the five committee positions. A motion was passed to allow all nominations to be successfully voted in.
The positions for 2024/25 are:
- President: Graeme Dent
- Vice President: vacant
- Secretary: Nette Williams
- Treasurer: Cassandra Calder
- Committee: Gillian Armistead, Rachel Moon, Hugh Dreher, Claire Barnes, Emmaline Shand, Greg Walton, Peter Hill, Renton Chappell, Kate Collis, Chris Thompson and Chris Madner. The Sharks have a seat on the executive and that may be taken up by Peter Taylor.
This executive is large in number and rich in skills and will provide the basis for the work undertaken next year. With so much happening in hockey in the foreseeable future we are in good hands.
